Many say that art is subjective. I've always thought that the most enduring type of art is of the fascinating creations that evolve out of our lives as human beings.
Sometimes we need new adventures to find the boundaries of a masterpiece dormant and in development in ourselves. Others are forced to quickly change from an unsettling event and others escape a pressing paradigm shift.
My move to Oregon in the Fall of 2018 was no exception. People in Oregon are "works of art" that push the limits and boundaries on the territory of the human condition like most places. Sometimes in challenging the foundation of our values we find how easy we can forget the cherished change process we are actually in.
My art is an expression of my understanding of the masterpiece of my life as it inches forward. I invite you to enjoy the path this endeavor takes me on to improve my skill, understanding, and acceptance of such reality as I apply what I learn into the heart and imagery of my work over the next few years.
While fearful of what may result, I am personally encouraged by an ancient passage by an author that I've never met to intended readers in person. From prison, he encouraged people to practice integrity in their relationships. He reminded them that we alone from ourselves do not accomplish great feats to boast about, but rather, we are the handiwork of God, an actual unfinished masterpieces that God promises to care for despite our flaws.
Deep within me, I know we are alive and created to do good things without a focus on performance, skill, and educational certifications. Rather it comes from the grace and faith gifted to us through God, others and the command of our own will & decisions. Let the art adventure begin!
